Passion and excitement will surely grip spectators who will turnout at Stade de Renouveau of the University of Yaounde I this Sunday, 26 August to watch the Cameroon Cricket Cup finals. At 12 noon, Cameroon Cup debutants Emergence Ladies of Mvog-Ada will lock horns with another first-time participant, Academy Ladies of Douala, in a 10 to 15 Overs hard ball cricket match that is expected to last 1 hour 30 minutes, according to Victor Agbor Nso, National Cricket Federation President.

Warrior Ladies Cricket Club of Yaounde are defending champions and Cup holders. The men’s final is a Yaounde derby. KOP Pioneers team Captain, Faustin Mpegna and ten of his teammates will battle it out with Warriors of Mvog-Ada in a game whose goal is to dethrone defending Cup winners, Academy Cricket Club of Douala. Both teams, organisers say, have lifted the coveted trophy at least once.

The two finals to be chaired by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education or his representative shall be watched and cheered among other spectators including diplomats, sports icons and officials of the National Olympic and Sports Committee (NOSC). Award of prizes to victors and refreshment will mark the end of the 2018 Cricket season in Cameroon.
